About James and Demay's Auto Repair
Located at 2414 E Lake Rd, Erie, PA 16511, James and Demay's Auto Repair operates as an auto repair shop serving Erie in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In Erie, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Pennsylvania vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.
The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. The most common schedule is 8 amβ5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach James and Demay's Auto Repair at (814) 454-4370; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, facebook.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.9 out of 5 from 165 reviews, which is a strong result for an auto repair shop in Erie and suggests consistent service.
Erie is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Erie peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

If you need help with your car and want: no bullshit, amazing service, and to help out an amazing local business, then James and Demay's is the best place you can find. They care about you as the person you are not a wallet that needs to be squeezed for all its worth. He is the most honest mechanic I've found. If you need car help they will do it better than any else. Hell, if you get a quote from somewhere else and it sounds insane I'd call Demay's to make sure you aren't getting ripped off. I just dropped my car off for new brakes and rotors this morning. He stayed until 8:30 pm just to make sure I'd be able to get to work tomorrow. If that ain't the integrity you look for, then you need to get your head checked!

I brought my 2018 Nissan Rogue in for an oil change and new brakes. I could hear what sounded like my rotors grinding. I get there and 20 min after I'm getting a phone call telling me my brakes are perfect what am I hearing. I explained what I was hearing. The gentleman that I spoke with on the phone analyzed the issue with me on the phone. Within 10 mins he's calling me back my vehicle is done and he wasn't charging me over $600. My bill is $110.00. This company is by far the most trustworthy company out there. They won't swindle you and try to upsell you on anything. They break down everything and tell you the costs. This company is a win-win in my book. If you need your car repaired and you don't want to be hassled James and Demay auto repair are there for you!!

James was able to squeeze us in for a next day appointment. He was amiable and seems fair-minded. Service was prompt even though they were running shorthanded today. Overall it was a great experience and we will absolutely be returning when our vehicle next requires service.

I started having my vehicle serviced here in April of this year and I cannot say enough good things about this garage. The service was exceptional and the customer service was unsurpassable! I got honest feedback and was charged more than a fair price. I was back there a couple weeks ago to have my AC fixed and once again, the same great experience. This past Friday I was headed out of town for a family wedding and the temperature light came on. After a frustrating half hour, I contacted James (after hours on a Friday) and he stayed on the phone with me and had me send pics so he could try to walk me through what needed to be done. Unfortunately, I had to leave my vehicle parked in a lot just off the highway and itβs being towed to James and Demays garage as I type this, but we made it to the wedding safely (thanks to family members who stuck with us on the highway) and had a great time! But kudos to James for selflessly answering my call and staying on the phone with me when he didnβt have to. Definitely 5 starts and I recommend this garage every chance I get!!!

So, I don't know how or where to start. I called on short notice to have my brakes and/or bearings looked at since there was a horrible noise coming from the front end. The owner had me bring my van in on super short notice mind you, right before LABOR Day weekend as well, and popped her up on the lift, diagnosed the issue, fixed the van, and she runs as sharp as a tack now! I couldn't be happier! I was given clear communication, pictures of the trouble areas, and A-1 kindness and hard work. Without his help and expertise, I would have ended up on the side of the road somewhere. James and Demay's, you guys have a great shop and thank you for all the help! Will recommend! (Below are picture communications of the faulty areas.)
